Transfer
The Local Authority manage all transfers from school to school. The admission number for each year
group is 60 and once that number has been reached then an appeal process is in place. Transfer forms
are available from the school office if parents wish to move schools. Once this form is completed and
sent to the Admission Team, at the address above, then they will contact both schools for information
and inform parents or carers of the outcome.
School Times
The school bell rings at 8.50am to signal the start of the school day. Children are asked not to arrive at
school before 8.45am unless they are coming to Breakfast Club or are accompanied by a parent. The
gates are opened and playgrounds supervised by staff from 8.45am. The caretaker begins to lock the
gates from 8.55am and can’t wait for parents who are late. If the gates are locked please use the main
entrance.

Please realise the importance of a punctual start to the day for your child to ensure that no essential
instructions are missed. We encourage children to be independent and ask that they come into school
on their own wherever possible; this helps to avoid overcrowding in our cloakroom areas. If your child is
late you will be asked to complete a late slip at Reception.
Lunchtimes are staggered to ease congestion in the dining hall and playground.
If you are coming to school by car arrive in plenty of time because the area around school becomes
congested and you may need to park a considerable distance away.
Breakfast Club
There is a Breakfast Club operating which runs from 8.15am until 8.45am. The Breakfast Club is
subsidised by school for everyone to keep the cost low and is free for children who have been entitled
to free school meals at some point in their time at school.
There are 10 Early Bird places at Breakfast Club provided from 8-8.15am for children whose parents
have significant childcare issues. If you need an Early Bird place please contact Mrs J Conway.
The cost of Breakfast Club is £1 a day/£5 a week for children who have never been in receipt of free
school meals and free for those who have been in receipt of free school meals at some point.
It is really important that we know who is coming to Breakfast Club in advance; this is to keep children
safe. Money, in a breakfast club envelope, should be given to the office in advance for the following
week clearly stating which days your child will be coming for breakfast. Envelopes will be provided by
school. Children will not be able to attend unless parents have informed us in advance.
